Progressive Protein Concentration Sytems µTFF

The assignment for our team was to create a concept for a chamber for progressive protein processing by means of tangential flow filtration (TFF).

It was also to be equipped with pressure sensors for differential measurement of pressure. In addition it should also be provided with an optical cuvette to determine the protein concentration by means of absorption measurement.

The core idea of our concept for absorption measurement of progressive protein concentration was a set of optics adapted to a capillary system.
The design of the chamber was optimized with respect to laminar streamlines and integration of pressure sensors.

Project Standards

  • Realization of a functional model for progressive protein concentration for minimum overall volumes
  • It should be possible to measure the protein concentrations photometrically during concentration in real time
