Coupling Technology for Oligonucleotide Syntheses
Fully automatic systems for oligonucleotide syntheses for use in life sciences and clinical diagnostics represent distinct challenges: Minimum volumes of flammable or aggressive chemicals should be alternatingly dosed and remain free of carryover. And that parallel to one another in varying sequences. Valve systems were not optimally suited to fulfilling these requirements. Consequently, we were commissioned to give some thought to optimizing the concept devised by our client on mechanical coupling of liquid channels.
We have optimized the desired, flexible, mechanical coupling of channels. In order to improve the reliability of an oligonucleotide synthesizer, fine optimizing has been implemented for the sealing materials and sealing surfaces. This has the advantage of protecting cables, mechanical parts and optics from being damaged by leakage of aggressive/corrosive chemical substances.
